Happy Birthday The Crafts Meow

The Craft's Meow is celebrating it's 1st birthday.  They have lots of challenges and I've been so swamped that I haven't been able to complete them all.  The card for today is for their last birthday bash challenge and today is the deadline!  So here's my birthday card:

I used the Owl stamp from the "Happy Owlentine's Day" set & I also used the free digi sentiment from The Craft's Meow.

I cut my card using the Create a Critter Cartridge and welding it together in the Cricut Craft Room.
The striped paper is from Echo Park.
I added some organza ribbon and some faux stitching.
The balloon and the circle of the owl are popped up with foam dots.

Thanks for taking a look.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Birthday Butterfly

Two posts in one night!  ... I'm playing catch-up.   : )

For this post I'm sharing a birthday card I made for the Bitten by the Bug 2 Flourish challenge.  You're supposed to make a card using a flourish from the Cindy Loo cartridge... but I don't have that cartridge. So you can use any cartridge that has a flourish.

Here's my card:

I cut my flourishes & the butterfly from the Graphically Speaking cartridge.
I cut the tag from Elegant Edges.
My papers are from Pink Paislee.
The Happy Birthday sentiment stamp is from My Creative Time
I used the Fiskars Combo Border Corner punch on the matt layer.
I used foam squares to pop up the butterfly and the flourishes.
I inked all the edges and added some pearls.

Thanks for taking a look.  I'd love for you to leave a comment.
Each one is a blessing.

Sweet deer

I'm trying to get back into the groove of things... my schedule has been off for a couple of weeks.  One week was planned for a volunteer project.  The other week wasn't planned.  I was sick and I'm still not quite 100% but I'm getting there.

For this post I'm sharing a card I made for the Challenge Me Monday #104 "Out like a Lamb" on the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog.  The challenge this week is to make something with a gentle animal like a lamb, puppy, kitten, etc.

I chose to use a sweet little deer.

I cut the deer from the Best Images of 2010 Cricut Cartridge.
I cut the circle using the Graphically Speaking Cricut Cartridge.
The "Spring Blessings" sentiment stamp is from Paper Smooches.
The patterned paper is from Pink Paislee.
The rest of the paper is from my scraps box.
The textured orange ribbon is from my stash.

Thanks for taking a look. I'd love for you to leave a comment.
Each one is a blessing.

Happy Birthday From the Heart

For this post I have a birthday card to share with you.
I made this using a free digi stamp from The Craft's Meow.
They are having a Birthday Bash from 3/17 - 3/21 in honor of their 1st birthday!
They issued a sketch challenge.

Here's the sketch

Here's my take on it

(you can click on the picture to see it larger)

The sentiment is the free digi from The Craft's Meow.
It reads "Happy Birthday from the Heart Because that is where all great wishes start."

So I used a pink cardstock for the base.
Cut a rectangle out of some green with pink tiny flower DCWV paper and then used my new Fiskars Combo Border Corner Punch. I like the look it gives.
I cut the pink heart out from my computer at the same time I did the digi sentiment.
I cut a silver tag from DCWV paper.
added some pearl flourishes
inked the edges of everything
and also drew over some parts of the sentiment with a pink marker.

That's all folks!

Hope you enjoyed your time here. Come back soon. : )

Don't forget to check out The Craft's Meow blog and enter the challenge. There's plenty of time and they have all kinds of awesome stuff happening for their first birthday too.

I love you more than...

I don't know if you are familiar with Bugaboo Digi Stamps ... I'm new to their products and I have to say that they have so many cute images.   I got a set that has to do with chocolate chip cookies... yum! ... and it's really cute.  You can check it out HERE

I made this card for their Catch the Bug Sketch Challenge

Here's the sketch:

Here's my take on it:

(you can click on the picture to see it bigger)
The senitment says "I love you more than I love chocolate chip cookies"

I started with a Kraft card base.
Added some green checked paper from DCWV Nana's Nursery Collection
I printed out my Bugaboo Digi stamps and colored them with Sugar Loaf Markers.
I cut apart the digital sentiment that came with the Bugaboo Cookie kit and inked all the edges.
I added some stamped hearts and some faux stitching and the red ribbon.

Thanks for taking a look.  Hope you'll come by again soon.

There for you no matter what

Oh I had so much fun making this card!  I made it to cover two challenges.

One is for DL.ART for Thankful Thursday to use at least 3 layers, a bow and some bling.
The other challenge is for Bitten by the Bug 2 to use a bunny or a chick.

Here's my card:

I cut the Bunnies and the word "friends" from the Create-a-Critter Cricut Cartridge.
Each bunny has 4 layers.
The dress part is from the Koala's page on Create a Critter.
I added a pink floss bow to the one bunny and a bling necklace on the other one.
I cut the grass using my Fiskars grass punch.
I doodled a little with my white gel pen.
The stamped sentiment is from My Creative Time.

This card just makes me smile. It's so bright and spring-y.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog today.
Come back again soon.

Paper Smooches

I recently purchased a set of stamps from Paper Smooches called Eco Friendly.  I just love all the images on here.  So many cute things!

So yesterday I was able to play with this set and made the following two cards:
(you should be able to click on the pictures to see them bigger)

Some details on the above card:
The patterned papers are from Stampin' Up.
The plain papers are from my scrap pile.
The pink mat for the Lion & Lamb was cut using Elegant Edges.
The lion and lamb, I stamped on patterned paper and cut them out. I added white liquid pearls to the lamb to give it some puffy dimension. I also stamped the lion again on the tan paper and cut out his face and tip of his tail and paper pieced them.
The flower is a Prima Flower and the orange pearls are from the dollar bin at Michaels.

Some details on the above card:
I can't tell you any details on the papers because they are from my scrap pile.
I stamped the clouds on different papers and cut them out. I stamped them in different color inks to make each cloud a little different. I also stamped and cut out the wind, snow, lightning and rain drop to add to each cloud.
The sentiment I made using my computer.
The sentiment says "no matter the weather...we'll always be together."
I added some faux stitching in black and thought it was a little too harsh. So I went over it in the bright blue.
I inked the edges of the card base in the blue also.

I'm really enjoying this stamp set.  I'm sure I'll have lots more projects to share with you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a fabulous weekend.

Girl with Balloons - Birthday

I'm new to using Digi-stamps but I'm finding that I like them very much.  I made the following birthday card for my niece and want to enter it in the Catch the Bug Challenge for Bugaboo Stamps.

This is the tag that pulls out from the pocket.

I used the Bugaboo WO Balloon Girl digi stamp.
I colored her with colored pencils.
I added some Stickles to the balloons and her shoes.
I had fun coloring her tights different un-matching patterns because that's how the kids are wearing them.
I used some liquid pearls to add a little to the pocket and to the scallop trim.
I stamped her name using Sweet Alpha Doodles stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop.
The star is from Stampin' Up.
I inked the edges with different shades of Martha Stewart inks.
The happy birthday sentiment is a rub-on.
All the papers were from my scrap pile.
That's all folks!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
Come back soon.

Candy's Craft Corner - blog candy

You all need to head over to Candy's Craft Corner and check out her blog.  She has an amazing giveaway going on right now because she's reached the 400 mark on her followers.  I'm a new follower to her blog but I've checked out her gallery and WOW she's got really wonderful creations to share with you. I'm sure you'll be inspired.   The giveaway ends March 19th. So hurry over.

You are Classic - birthday card

My Father-in-law's birthday is this weekend.  He's so hard to buy for because he already has everything. But at least I know he won't be getting another card just like this one.  lol. : )

Here's what I made:

I cut the car and the word "classic" from the Nifty Fifties Cricut Cartridge.
The hearts I cut by hand. (I needed to add something pink to meet a challenge criteria)
The stamp sentiments are from My Creative Time.
The ribbon is from my stash.
All the papers are DCWV except for the striped background paper. That's Echo Park.

I'm entering this in a couple of challenges:

(I don't own an imagine, so I used patterned paper)
(You had to use Teal, Red & Pink)

(anything goes)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you'll come back soon.

Your comments are blessing.

Thank You cards

I saw on the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog that their challenge this week is a color challenge.

#100 – FCCB Color Challenge
Use the three colours associated with Fantabulous Cricut (purple, green and turquoise) somewhere on your project

So I was in need of some thank you cards and this is what I came up with:

When will I learn to stop using Shimmer Paper when I'm going to be taking a picture!?!
It really is hard for me to photograph it but it sure looks pretty in person.

I cut the flowers from the Best Images of 2009 cartridge.
I cut  some strips of the same papers to fill up some space.
Stamped the leaves and the sentiments.
Added a metal button to one card and a turquoise stone to the other.
Inked the edges and ta-da! : )

Two cards that came together pretty quickly.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Come back again soon.

Cupcake Card

The challenge over at Cardz TV this week is to make a card with a birthday cake or a cupcake on it using any colors and any cartridges we want.

Here's my card.

I used  the Best Images of 2009 cartridge for my cupcake.
The papers are all DCWV
except for the brown polka dot base layer on the cupcake. That's Echo Park.
The sentiment is a stamp from Sweet Stamp Shop's "Scootin by" set.
I used Stickles on the cherry.
I used my crimper on the cupcake wrapper.
Inked all the edges with Colorbox Chestnut Roan ink.
I used my Marvy corner rounder to round one edge on each layer.
The cupcake is popped up with foam squares.

That about covers it for this card.  Thanks for taking a moment to look.
